Playa Hermosa

Hermosa in spanish means beautiful, and boy does this beach live up to its name. Located on the north side of the famous Whale’s Tail, this is the beach that illustrates our spectacular view from the Casa Galini terrace. This is a public beach and the closest beach to the villa. It is sandy and excellent for enjoying regular beach activities. You can also find a lot of shaded areas under the palm trees that rim the edge. Playa Hermosa also has one of the best point breaks for beginner and intermediate surfers!

Playa Chaman

Playa Chaman is located just south of the famous Whale’s Tail. This beach is a part of the National Park and therefore has a small entrance fee. It is also sandy and is great for enjoying regular beach activities as well as waves for beginner and intermediate surfers. There is plenty of shaded areas and you can park your car right next to your selected area. This is also a great beach to go during sunset as you can watch the ball drop right into the horizon while it also creates a rainbow painting on the wet sand.

Playa Marino Ballena National Park

This is the spot to adventure out and take a walk onto the Whale’s Tail during low tide. It is accessed from the main entrance to the National Park. Departure points for excursions such as whale watching, snorkelling and sea kayaking can be found at this beach. A wonderful beach to enjoy regular beach activities and see a lot of wildlife.  Please note that there is no surfing point and very few shaded areas, so bringing your own sun umbrella is highly recommended. At the entrance you can find washrooms/showers as well as an entire strip of shops and restaurants.

Playa Pinuela

Playa Pinuela certainly has its perks in that it is smaller, less crowded and therefore a tad less touristy, if that's the vibe you're feeling that day! Found in a small bay, this beach is perfect for swimming and playing in the water. You can find lots of shade, soft sand and rocky areas great for exploring the oceans’ treasures. This beach is also part of the National Park, but due to its small size it is very rarely patrolled for entrance fees. Definitely a beach that is a little more off the beaten path. There is also a very good local restaurant just south of the beach entrance where they have some of the best ceviche!

Playa Dominicalito

Small town vibe for sure at this beach. Playa Dominicalito is great for playing in the sand, taking a nap under a palm tree. It is also a great beach for beginner/intermediate surfing. At low tide, we encourage you to walk to the north end of the beach and enjoy exploring the numerous tide pools. This is also the beach that if you go early morning you can watch many local fisherman set out to sea in their small boats looking for the catch of the day. If you happen to be around when they come back in around 9-10am, you might just be able to buy fish fresh out of the boat!

Playa Dominical

Known as surfers’ paradise, Playa Dominical features a long stretch of beach great to enjoy regular beach activities in low tide. Once that swell arrives, sit back and enjoy watching the surfers put on a show! Dominical is also known for its small town vibes, great restaurants, local vendors, surf schools and its organic farmers’ market on Fridays from 8am.-1pm. You can also find many wellness and yoga studios in this town if you are looking to pop in for a class or experience a holistic workshop.
